North Station Provisions is a craft butcher shop and an artisan bakery that opened in the heart of Manotick in November 2021. It is the creation of Chef Amanda Cameron (former Sous Chef at the Wellington Gastropub). She along with her team offer consumers all the goods they need to make the perfect dinner at home including both fresh foods and prepared grab and go meals. Items include: specialty butcher cuts from locally sourced fresh meat, high welfare Ontario chickens, Dry Aged Steaks, house crafted fresh baked breads, sourdough bread, house cinnamon buns, Chef crafted sandwiches, house smoked bacon, house made sausages, chef made sauces, preserves, jams and much more.
We are a nose to tail operation and our philosophy is deeply rooted in the appreciation of good food. Our relationships with local suppliers ensure we get the highest quality, natural and ethically raised proteins for our customers. By working directly with Ontario farmers, we have created a transparent supply chain and we know that all of our meats are free from added hormones and antibiotics. Being a nose to tail operation means we can offer all of the usual cuts of meat, but we can also provide items not readily available at the grocer, such as fats, bones and organ meats. Our butchers do all of their work right behind our meat counter so you can see them action and we are happy to discuss your needs and cut to your exact specification.
Every week we have a variety of fresh products and prepared meals in our refrigerator display. We source a few local food products such as deli meats and cheeses but most of our food products are made from scratch in our kitchen. The team prepares a number of take-home meals each week, such as braised beef, smoked brisket, pulled pork and mac & cheese, and various meat pot pies just to name a few of our customers’ favorites. We also produce a number of condiments and pantry items such as pickles, jams, stocks and sauces to enhance your meals. All of these products are made fresh in the kitchen and contain no added preservatives.
Our bakery produces a number of fresh breads and sweets daily. Our breads are primarily sourdough based using organic heritage flours including locally ground whole wheat flour from Watson's Mill. Sourdough is an ancient leavening process, and it takes days to produce the loaves, but it also results in better taste and quality. Each day we offer a regular sourdough Country Loaf, a Seeded Loaf, a Sourdough Baguette and the daily Focaccia. We also produce a variety of other breads such as Milk Bread, dinner rolls and hamburger buns throughout the week. For sweets, cinnamon buns are a regular offering along with cookies, brownies, butter tarts and pies.
Please drop in to see us, or feel free to give us a call if there’s something we can help you with. We look forward to seeing you soon in Manotick!
